Hug a tree…

So apparently the Bush administration is trying to do an end-around on our forests in the waning days of their influence in order to open up our roadless wilderness to mining and drilling. Fellow Coloradoans, I IMPLORE you to go make your voices heard to stop this mad land grab by submitting your statement before October 24th.

Environment Colorado

Our forests thank you.

  1. 3 trees hugged by the lopeman-sabin household.
nice job on the pavement, by the way.

  2. Stubert, got your note about the pavement pounding … for one, if you plan to race at all on pavement, you’ve got to do some running on pavement (much as it sucks) it really makes a difference in preparing your legs for the challenge, just like you wouldn’t run exclusively on pavement, and then suddenly try a trail race …

I make sure I have fresh shoes if I’m going to run a road marathon, that really helps as well. I can get away with trail running on beat up shoes, but not on the roads.

I got lost at Leadville this year right before Twin Lakes and lost an hour, missed the cutoff at Winfield, but I’ve made that the focus of my year next year, I even told WS to stuff it, despite having a guaranteed entry after they canceled the race and stole my money … (not just some for non-refundable expenses, but the whole $300) …

Next up in the mean time is the HURT 100 in Hawaii in Jan, should be, well … “interesting” … I’ve heard some evil things about that course! See you at Leadville!
